About the Temple

Nestled at the foothills of the serene Sirumalai Hills in Dindigul District, Tamil Nadu

Sri Aadhi Lingeswarar Gnana Thirukoil stands as a beacon of peace, devotion, and divine energy. Surrounded by lush greenery and often called "Then Kailayam" (Southern Kailash), this sacred site embodies the eternal power of Lord Shiva.

At the heart of the temple rises a magnificent 54-feet Shiva Lingam, representing the formless, infinite aspect of Lord Shiva — the source of creation, wisdom, and liberation.

Built with the collective devotion of villagers and devotees over the past 16 years, this temple radiates a spiritual aura that transforms every visitor with calmness and clarity.

The grand Kumbabhishekam was performed on 26 February 2025, witnessed by thousands of devotees from across the country. Since then, the temple has continued to conduct daily morning and evening poojas, special festival rituals, and Annadhanam (free food service) to thousands of devotees.

Founder & Spiritual Head

Sri V. Thamizhselvan Swamigal, founder of Sri Aadhi Lingeswarar Gnana Thirukoil, is a spiritual devotee guided by divine vision. From a young age, he was drawn to meditation, yoga, and the mysteries of creation. During deep meditation, Goddess Akilandeswari appeared and blessed him with the mission to build this sacred temple. With unwavering faith, he left worldly life to dedicate himself fully to Lord Shiva’s service. Today, his vision continues through the temple and Aadhi Lingeswarar Arakkattalai, spreading peace and divine wisdom.

“The Divine Mother Akilandeswari gave me the vision, the strength, and the sacred command to build this temple. Every stone, every devotee, and every prayer here carries Her energy. My only wish is to see people attain peace, wisdom, and spiritual growth through the grace of Lord Aadhi Lingeswarar - — V.
